Dr. Sabharwal’s Chlorhexidine Gauze Dressing BP 93, also known as Chloro Tulle, is crafted from leno weave cotton gauze impregnated with an ointment containing 0.5% w/w Chlorhexidine Acetate BP and petroleum jelly (soft paraffin). This combination provides antiseptic properties to prevent infection and a non-adherent surface to minimize pain during dressing changes. The dressing is gamma-irradiated to ensure sterility and is individually packed between two vegetable parchment papers in a peelable pouch to prevent contamination. It is suitable for use on burns, skin grafts, bedsores, ulcers, minor burns and scalds, lacerations, abrasions, donor and recipient graft sites, and leg ulcers. The leno weave design prevents thread shedding, and the paraffin content reduces adherence to the wound surface, promoting patient comfort and facilitating healing.
