Incorporating BD Instaflash™ needle technology, it provides immediate visual confirmation of vessel entry, potentially reducing the number of insertion attempts. The cannula is constructed from BD Vialon™ biomaterial, which softens up to 70% once in the vein, enabling longer dwell times and reducing the risk of mechanical phlebitis by up to 50% compared to FEP catheters. Its ergonomic design accommodates various insertion techniques, and the anti-rotation tab enhances cannulation control, providing tactile feedback during insertion. For added safety, the BD Neoflon™ Pro Safety™ IV Catheter variant includes a passive needle shield that automatically covers the needle after cannulation, protecting against needlestick injuries.
